Open Book: 2026 Queer Youth Art Project
In this program, we’ll create accordion books handmade zigzag-folded books that stretch, expand, and unfold in surprising ways. Each fold becomes a new space to experiment, explore, and tell a story that doesn’t have to follow the usual rules.
We’ll use drawing, collage, writing, painting, found materials, and anything else that sparks an idea. You can build pockets, flaps, hidden pages, or long unfolding scenes. Your book might tell a story, capture a feeling, explore identity, or just be a place to try things out.
This workshop is a creative space for LGBTQ+ teens to make art, share ideas, and explore what matters to them. No art experience needed—just curiosity and a willingness to experiment.
This program is open to LGBTQ+ youth in grades 9–12.

All sessions will be held at the Community Campus in Portsmouth, NH. The building is fully accessible.
